The protein encoded by this gene is an extracellular serine protease that binds hyaluronic acid and is involved in cell adhesion.
The encoded protein is synthesized as a single chain, but then undergoes an autoproteolytic event to form the functional heterodimer.
Further autoproteolysis leads to smaller, inactive peptides.
This protease is known to cleave urinary plasminogen activator, coagulation factor VII, and the alpha and beta chains of fibrinogen, but not prothrombin, plasminogen, or the gamma chain of fibrinogen.
Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
Applications:Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Immunofluorescence: 1:50-1:100Western Blot: 1:500-1:2000Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-1:200Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
