Retinoic acid receptor gamma (RAR gamma), a NR1 Thyroid Hormone-Like Receptor, has been shown to affect skin keratinocyte response to UV radiation, lung development, head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, squamous skin carcinogenesis, pancreatic ductal cancer, colorectal cancer, ovarian carcinoma, breast cancer, and other developmental programs and diseases.
RAR gamma binds as a dimer with the retinoic X receptor (RXR) to direct repeat 1 (DR1) sequences of target DNA.
