Calcineurin A beta (PPP3CB), a PP2B type serine/threonine phosphatase, is a catalytic subunit of calcineurin which acts as a calcium dependent modifier of phosphorylation status.
PPP3CB is believed to function in calmodulin activation of calcineurin and may be involved in neuronal reorganization after ischemic injury.
At least two isoforms have been identified.
