Serine/threonine-protein phosphatase 2A is one of four major serine and threonine phosphatases and plays an important role in processes such as the regulation of the cell cycle, cell growth and division.
It has a common heteromeric core enzyme composed of a catalytic subunit and a constant regulatory subunit.
PP2A alpha is the alpha isoform of the catalytic subunit.
