Maltose binding protein (MBP) is encoded by the malE gene of E.coli.
MBP is often used in protein expression studies because it creates a stable fusion product that does not appear to interfere with the bioactivity of the protein of interest.
It also allows for its easy purification from bacterial extracts under mild conditions.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 1:1000Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
