IL-6 is a cytokine with many biological functions.
Some of its roles include the final differentiation of B-cells into Ig-secreting cells, induction of meloma and plasmacytoma growth, induction of nerve cell differentiation, and in hepatocytes, induction of acute phase reactants.
IL-6 is secreted and is N- and O-glycosylated post translationally.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 1ug/mlOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C.
Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C.
Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
