Annexin V, also known as Annexin A5, belongs to the annexin family of calcium dependent phospholipid binding proteins.
Annexin V has roles in cellular signal transduction, inflammation, growth and differentiation.
Annexin V has been shown to have a high affinity for phosphatidylserine (PS) and is therefore a potential probe for the detection of apoptosis.
