Human Interleukin-23 receptor (IL-23R) is a member of the type I cytokine receptor family and mediator of T-cell, NK cell, and possibly macrophage/myeloid cell, stimulation.
IL-23R acts as the receptor for IL-23, through association with the beta component of IL-12R, and is thought to signal through activation of the JAK-STAT signalling pathway.
Genetic variation in IL23R is associated with inflammatory bowel disease type 17 (IBD17), susceptibility to ulcerative, and susceptibility to the inflammatory dermatosis condition, psoriasis.
It is reported as suitable for use in immunocytochemistry on acetone fixed cells.
