I-TAC is a member of the CXC chemokine family, which signals through binding to CD183 (CXCR3), and is regulated by interferon gamma and beta.
I-TAC is highly expressed by peripheral blood leucocytes, the pancreas and liver, and acts as a potent chemoattractant for IL-2 activated T cells, as well as a natural antagonist for CD195 (CCR5).
