The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the SEC23 subfamily of the SEC23/SEC24 family.
It is part of a protein complex and found in the ribosome-free transitional face of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and associated vesicles.
This protein has similarity to yeast Sec23p component of COPII.
COPII is the coat protein complex responsible for vesicle budding from the ER.
The encoded protein is suggested to play a role in the ER-Golgi protein trafficking.
Applications:Suitable for use in FLISA and Western Blot.
Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilutions:Western Blot: ~100kD band observed in lysates of NIH3T3 (calculated MW of 86.2kD according to human NP_006355.2 and to mouse NP_033173.2.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
FITC conjugates are sensitive to light.
Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
