Oct-1 (POU2F1) is a ubiquitously expressed, octamer-binding transcription factor containing a POU domain with a homeobox subdomain (1).
Oct-1 has been shown to interact with several transcription factors in mediating specific gene expression, including SNAPc (2), OBF-1 (a B-cell transcriptional coactivator protein) (3), TFIIB (4), and TBP (TATA-box-binding protein) (5).
Its POU DNA-binding domain allows Oct-1 the flexibility to facilitate the binding and recruitment of several tissue-specific cofactors to either positively or negatively regulate a variety of genes, exerting an important role in development (6).
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot.

Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 1:500-1:2000Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
