- Glycine receptor subunit alpha-1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the GLRA1 gene.
- The protein encoded by this gene is a subunit of a pentameric inhibitory glycine receptor.
- The receptor mediates postsynaptic inhibition in the central nervous system.
- Defects in this gene are a cause of startle disease (STHE), also known as hereditary hyperekplexia or congenital stiff-person syndrome.
- Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
- Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry.
- Other applications not tested.
- Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 1:500-1:2000Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-1:100Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
- Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
