The CBS gene encodes cystathionine beta-synthase, which catalyzes the first irreversible step of transsulfuration.
The CBS enzyme is a homotetramer of 63kD subunits and requires pyridoxal phosphate and heme for activity (PMID:11230183).
CBS protein is localized in most areas of the brain, but predominantly in the cell bodies and neuronal processes of Purkinje cells and Ammon's horn neurons (PMID:12588964).
This antibody is specific to CBS.
Applications:Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Western Blot.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 1:500-1:2000Immunofluorescence: 1:50-1:200Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
