- APOB, also named as Apo B-48 and Apo B-100, is a major protein constituent of chylomicrons (apo B-48), LDL (apo B-100) and VLDL (apo B-100).
- APOB functions as a recognition signal for the cellular binding and internalization of LDL particles by the apoB/E receptor.
- Defects in APOB are a cause of familial hypobetalipoproteinemia (FHBL).
- Defects in APOB are a cause of familial ligand-defective apolipoprotein B-100 (FDB).
- Defects in APOB associated with defects in other genes (polygenic) can contribute to hypocholesterolemia.
- The antibody is specific to APOB.
- Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot.
- Other applications not tested.
- Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 1:500-1:2000Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
- Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
- Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
- Store at -20°C.
- Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
- For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
