Nerve growth factor-beta (NGF-b) is a potent neurotrophic factor which supports the growth and survivability of nerve and/or glial cells.
The active form of human beta-NGF is is a noncovalently disulfide-linked homodimer, formed by two 13.5kD polypeptide monomers (238 total aa).
The three disulfide bonds are required for biological activity.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Neutralization.
Other applications not tested
Recommended Dilution:ELISA: 0.5-2ug/ml.
This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with Biotinylated Anti-Human beta-NGF as a detection antibody, allows the detection of 0.2-0.4ng/well of recombinant Human beta-NGF
Western Blot: 0.1-0.2ug/ml.
When used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for recombinant Human beta-NGF is 1.5-3ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions
Neutralization: To yield one-half maximal inhibition of the biological activity of Human beta-NGF (1ng/ml), a concentration of 0.05-0.08ug/ml of this antibody is required
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
FITC conjugates are sensitive to light.
Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
