- Mer, an Axl type tyrosine kinase, contains a cell adhesion molecule-related extracellular domain.
- Mutation of Mer results in defective phagocytosis of photoreceptor outer segments by the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) and retinal degeneration.
- In addition, Mer has been suggested to be critical for the engulfment and efficient clearance of apoptotic cells.
- This has implications for inflammation and autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus.
- Applications:Suitable for use in Peptide ELISA and Western Blot.
- Other applications not tested.
- Recommended Dilution:Peptide ELISA: 1:16,000Western Blot: 1-3ug/mlOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
