BIKE is a NAK serine/threonine protein kinase that mediates osteoblast differentiation.
The protein contains a N-terminal serine/threonine kinase domain, a C-terminal bipartite nuclear localization signal and a glutamine-rich region that may function in protein-protein interactions.
At least two mRNA transcript variants, resulting from alternative splicing at the BIKE locus, have been reported.
