特徴
- Streptavidin is a tetrameric protein purified from Streptomyces avidinii.
- It has wide use in numerous molecular biological protocols dues to its strong affinity for biotin.
- The original Strep-tag is a 9aa peptide with high specificity and affinity towards streptavidin.
- The addition of this tag to the C-terminus of recombinant proteins allowed the simple purification of protein by use of affinity columns.
- It was re-engineered (and re-named Strep-tag II) to allow it to also placed at the N-terminus of recombinant proteins.
- Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot.
- Other applications not tested.
- Recommended Dilutions:Western Blot: 0.25ug/mlOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
- Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
- Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
- Store at -20°C.
- Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
- For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
