ANGPTL3 (Angiopoietin-Like 3), also known as ANGPT5, is a protein which in humans is encoded by the ANGPTL3 gene.
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the angiopoietin-like family of secreted factors.
By radiation hybrid mapping and the use of surrounding genes, Conklin et al.
(1999) mapped the ANGPTL3 gene to chromosome 1p31.
It is predominantly expressed in the liver, and has the characteristic structure of angiopoietins, consisting of a signal peptide, N-terminal coiled-coil domain and the C-terminal fibrinogen (FBN)-like domain.
Angptl3 also acts as dual inhibitor of lipoprotein lipase (LPL) and endothelial lipase (EL), and increases plasma triglyceride and HDL cholesterol in rodents.
ANGPTL3 inhibit endothelial lipase to catalyze HDL-phospholipid and increase HDL-PL levels.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions:Western Blot: 0.1-0.5ug/ml.
The detection limit for ANGPTL3 is ~1.5ng/lane under reducing conditions.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C.
Reconstitute with sterile dH2O.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
