• CD63 is a member of the transmembrane 4 superfamily, also known as the tetraspanin family.
• Most of these members are cell-surface proteins that are characterized by the presence of four hydrophobic domains.
• The proteins mediate signal transduction events that play a role in the regulation of cell development, activation, growth and motility.
• This encoded protein is a cell surface glycoprotein that is known to complex with integrins.
• It may function as a blood platelet activation marker.
• Deficiency of this protein is associated with Hermansky-Pudlak syndrome.
• Also this gene has been associated with tumor progression.
• The use of alternate polyadenylation sites has been found for this gene.
• Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and FLISA.
• Other potential application, though not tested is Direct Flow Cytometry.
• Other applications have not been tested.
• Recommended Dilutions:Immunohistochemistry (Leica): paraffinOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
• Storage and Stability:Store product at 4°C in the dark.
• DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C for 12 months after receipt as an undiluted liquid.
• Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use.
• Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
• Caution: PE conjugates are sensitive to light.
• For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
• Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
