This gene encodes the homolog of the mouse protein Cidea that has been shown to activate apoptosis.
This activation of apoptosis is inhibited by the DNA fragmentation factor DFF45 but not by caspase inhibitors.
Mice that lack functional Cidea have higher metabolic rates, higher lipolysis in brown adipose tissue and higher core body temperatures when subjected to cold.
These mice are also resistant to diet-induced obesity and diabetes.
This suggests that in mice this gene product plays a role in thermogenesis and lipolysis.
Alternatively spliced transcripts have been identified.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot, ELISA
Storage and Stability:Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks.
For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt.
Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Note: Sodium azide is a potent inhibitor of peroxidase and should not be added to HRP conjugates.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
