• Receptor for different ligands such as phospholipids, cholesterol ester, lipoproteins, phosphatidylserine and apoptotic cells.
• Probable receptor for HDL, located in particular region of the plasma membrane, called caveolae.
• Facilitates the flux of free and esterified cholesterol between the cell surface and extracellular donors and acceptors, such as HDL and to a lesser extent, apoB-containing lipoproteins and modified lipoproteins.
• Probably involved in the phagocytosis of apoptotic cells, via its phosphatidylserine binding activity.
• Receptor for hepatitis C virus glycoprotein E2.
• Binding between SCARB1 and E2 was found to be independent of the genotype of the viral isolate.
• Plays an important role in the uptake of HDL cholesteryl ester (By similarity).
• Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot.
• Other applications have not been tested.
• Recommended Dilution:Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
• Storage and Stability:Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks.
• For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C.
• Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt.
• Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use.
• Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
• Caution: FITC conjugates are sensitive to light.
• For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
• Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
