This gene encodes a member of the CATERPILLER family of cytoplasmic proteins.
The encoded protein, which contains an N-terminal pyrin domain, a NACHT domain, a NACHT-associated domain, and a C-terminus leucine-rich repeat region, functions as an attenuating factor of inflammation by suppressing inflammatory responses in activated monocytes.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been described but the full-length nature of some of these has not been determined.

Storage and Stability:Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks.
For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt.
Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Caution: FITC conjugates are sensitive to light.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
