• VILIP3 is a member of neuron-specific calcium-binding proteins family found in the retina and brain.
• It is highly similar to human hippocalcin protein and nearly identical to the rat and mouse hippocalcin like-1 proteins.
• It may be involved in the calcium-dependent regulation of rhodopsin phosphorylation and may be of relevance for neuronal signalling in the central nervous system.
• There are two alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene, with multiple polyadenylation sites.
• Transcript variant 1 utilizes a different exon and also lacks one exon in the 5' UTR, as compared to variant 2; thus, the encoded protein is the same.
• Applications:Suitable for use in FLISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry.
• Other applications not tested.
• Recommended Dilution:FLISA: 1:1,000Western Blot: 1:100-1:500Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-1:100Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
• Storage and Stability:Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks.
• For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C.
• Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt.
• Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use.
• Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
• Caution: FITC conjugates are sensitive to light.
• For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
• Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
