• The membrane-associated ABCB1 protein is a member of the superfamily of ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters.
• ABC proteins transport various molecules across extra- and intra-cellular membranes.
• ABC genes are divided into seven distinct subfamilies (ABC1, MDR/TAP, MRP, ALD, OABP, GCN20, White).
• This protein is a member of the MDR/TAP subfamily.
• Members of the MDR/TAP subfamily are involved in multidrug resistance.
• ABCB1 is an ATP-dependent drug efflux pump for xenobiotic compounds with broad substrate specificity.
• It is responsible for decreased drug accumulation in multidrug-resistant cells and often mediates the development of resistance to anticancer drugs.
• This protein also functions as a transporter in the blood-brain barrier.
• Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot.
• Other applications have not been tested.
• Recommended Dilution:Optimal dilution to be determined by the researcher.
• Storage and Stability:Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks.
• For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C.
• Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt.
• Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use.
• Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
• For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
