This gene was identified as a tumor suppressor that is mutated in a large number of cancers at high frequency.
The protein encoded this gene is a phosphatidylinositol-3,4,5-trisphosphate 3-phosphatase.
It contains a tensin like domain as well as a catalytic domain similar to that of the dual specificity protein tyrosine phosphatases.
Unlike most of the protein tyrosine phosphatases, this protein preferentially dephosphorylates phosphoinositide substrates.
It negatively regulates intracellular levels of phosphatidylinositol-3,4,5-trisphosphate in cells and functions as a tumor suppressor by negatively regulating AKT/PKB signaling pathway.
Applications:Suitable for use in Dot Blot and ELISA.
Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilution:Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks.
For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt.
Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
