• The Sec61 complex is the central component of the protein translocation apparatus of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membrane.
• Oligomers of the Sec61 complex form a transmembrane channel where proteins are translocated across and integrated into the ER membrane.
• This complex consists of three membrane proteins- alpha, beta, and gamma.
• This gene encodes the beta-subunit protein.
• The Sec61 subunits are also observed in the post-ER compartment, suggesting that these proteins can escape the ER and recycle back.
• There is evidence for multiple polyadenylated sites for this transcript.
• Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and ELISA.
• Other applications not tested.
• Recommended Dilutions:Immunohistochemistry: Formalin fixed, paraffin embedded tissues Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
• Storage and Stability:Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks.
• For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C.
• Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt.
• Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use.
• Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
• For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
