Complement factor B is a glycosylated protein composed of a single 93,000Da polypeptide chain.
It is an essential component of the alternative pathway of complement activation and is found in plasma at approximately 200ug/ml.
In the presence of Mg++ factor B binds to C3b and the C3b,B complex can be activated by factor D, a serine protease that circulates as an active trypsin-like serine protease.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunodiffusion.
Other applications not tested.

Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
