Prostatic acid phosphatase precursor catalyzes the conversion of orthophosphoric monoester to alcohol and orthophosphate.
ACPP is synthesized under androgen regulation and secreted by the epithelial cells of the prostrate gland.
Sequence comparison has indicated the presence of several polymorphisms.
ACPP undergoes alternative splicing in the 3' UTR.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry.
Other applications not tested.
