Focal adhesion kinase (FAK) is a non-receptor protein-tyrosine kinase that is involved in signaling pathways involved in cell motility, proliferation, and apoptosis.
FAK is activated by tyrosine phosphorylation in response to either integrin clustering induced by cell adhesion or antibody cross-linking, or via G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR) occupancy by ligands such as bombesin or lysophosphatidic acid, or via LDL receptor occupancy.
FAK plays a potential role in oncogenic transformation resulting in increased kinase activity.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 1:5000 Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 1:200Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
