Although the metabolic function of the tumor suppressor APC gene is not known, it is involved in maintaining cytoplasmic levels of the Wingless (Wg)/Wnt effector (Armadillo)/beta-catenin at a steady state.
During development, beta-catenin is involved in cell growth and axis patterning.
APC binds beta-catenin preventing it to act as a transcription factor and targets it for destruction.
Mutations in the APC gene cause familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP), an autosomal dominant pre-malignant disease that usually progresses to malignancy such as Gardner syndrome and colorectal cancer.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry.
Other applications not tested.

Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
