Aurora K-C is a 309aa protein belonging to the Ser/Thr protein kinase family and contains one protein kinase domain.
Its association with inner centromere protein (INCENP) and Aurora B activates the novel chromosomal passenger protein that plays a role in organizing microtubules in relation to centrosome:spindle function during mitosis.
It also plays a role in the development and progression of cancer especially in the presence of mutated p53.
It's highest expression level is during M phase, mostly in testis and some cancer cell lines such as HepG2, HuH7 and HeLa cells.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot.
