This gene is a member of the septin family of GTPases.
Members of this family are required for cytokinesis.
This gene encodes a protein associated with the tau-based paired helical filament core, and may contribute to the formation of neurofibrillary tangles in Alzheimer's disease.
SEPT2, otherwise known as septin-2, is a cytoskeletal GTPase and member of the septin family, essential for the formation of filaments, in conjunction with SEPT6 and SEPT7.
SEPT2 plays an important role during mitosis progression/cytokinesis, in the correct organization of the actin cytoskeleton, and maintains polyGlu microtubule tracks, thereby facilitating epithelial cell vesicle transport.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:ELISA: 1:32,000Western Blot: 2-4ug/ml, observed in lysates of cell line Jurkat on ~45kD bandsOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
