PIP belongs to the inositol monophosphatase family.
It hydrolyses adenosine 3'phosphate 5'-phosphosulfate to adenosine 5-phosphosulfate and 3'(2)'-phosphoadenosine 5'-phospate to AMP.
It requires magnesium as a cofactor.
Lithium is an uncompetive inhibitor and inositol 1,4-bisphosphate is a competitive inhibitor of PIP.
Lithium is one of the drugs used to treat manic depression and the inhibition of PIP may account for lithium-induced nephrotoxicity.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:ELISA: 1:4000Western Blot: 1-3ug/ml, observed in human liver lysates on ~37kD bandsOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
