AKR1C3, also known as PGFS, is a member of the aldo-keto reductase superfamily which catalyzes the conversion of aldehydes and ketones to their corresponding alcohols by utilizing NADH and/or NADPH as cofactors.
This enzyme catalyzes the reduction of prostaglandin (PG) D2, PGH2 and phenanthrenequinone (PQ), and the oxidation of 9 alpha, 11 beta-PGF2 to PGD2.
It may play an important role in the pathogenesis of allergic diseases such as asthma, and may also have a role in controlling cell growth and differentiation.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:ELISA: 1:32,000Western Blot: 0.01-0.1ug/ml, observed in human liver and human breast lysates on ~35kD bandsOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
