• The protein encoded by this gene is a cell-surface glycoprotein found on melanoma cells.
• The protein shares sequence similarity and iron-binding properties with members of the transferrin superfamily.
• It is involved in iron cellular uptake and seems to be internalized and then recycled back to the cell membrane.
• It binds a single atom of iron per subunit and could also bind zinc.
• This gene resides in the same region of chromosome 3 as members of the transferrin superfamily.
• There are two named isoforms.
• Applications:Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry.
• Other applications not tested.
• Recommended Dilution:Immunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 15-20ug/mlOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
• Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
• Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
• Store at -20°C.
• Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months.
• For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
