• HMGA1 is a 107aa protein belonging to the HMGA family and contains 3 A.T hook DNA-binding domains.
• It plays a role in many cellular processes, including regulation of inducible gene transcription, integration of retroviruses into chromosomes and the metastatic progression of cancer cells.
• It also functions in nucleosome phasing, in the 3'-end processing of mRNA transcripts and transcription regulation of genes containing, or in close proximity to A+T-rich regions.
• It influences both the formation and repair of UV-induced DNA lesions in intact cells and is involved in local and global changes in chromatin structure.
• It acts as a novel molecular determinant of invasiveness and metastasis, as well as a potential therapeutic target, in pancreatic adenocarcinoma.
• It is methylated in leukemia cells induced to undergo apoptosis.
• It is expressed in a wide range of cancer cells.
• Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry.
