• Transcription of protein-coding genes can be reconstituted on naked DNA with only the general transcription factors and RNA polymerase II.
• However, this minimal system cannot transcribe DNA packaged into chromatin, indicating that accessory factors may facilitate access to DNA.
• One such factor, FACT (facilitates chromatin transcription), interacts specifically with histones H2A/H2B to effect nucleosome disassembly and transcription elongation.
• FACT is composed of an 80kD subunit and a 140kD subunit, the latter of which is the protein encoded by this gene.
• Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry.
• Other applications not tested.
• Recommended Dilution:Immunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 20ug/mlOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
• Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
• Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
• Store at -20°C.
• Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months.
• For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
