Notch1 is a transmembrane protein functioning in development and the determination of cell fate.
During maturation, the notch molecule is cleaved by a furin-like convertase at its extracellular domain.
Upon binding to a ligand such as Delta1, or upon extracellular calcium depletion, the carboxy-terminal notch1 fragment is released and further cleaved between Gly1743 and Val1744.
The resulting activated cytosolic fragment translocates to the nucleus where it activates transcription.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:ELISA: 1:20,000-1:100,000Western Blot: 1:2000-1:10,000Immunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 1:500 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
