Matrix metalloproteinase (MMPs) are a family of closely related zinc containing proteolytic enzymes, capable of degrading connective tissue components.
MMP 10 demonstrates wide substrate specificity with the ability to degrade proteoglycan, fibronectin, laminin, casein and nonhelical region of collagen.
