Thyroxine binding is a protein with a molecular weight of 55,700kD.
The protein is bindingthyroxine as well as triiodothyronine.
In immunoelectrophoresis it has a alpha mobility.
Themean concentration in normal human serum is about 40mg/ml.
Elevated levels are observedduring oestrogen administration, pregnancy hypothyroidism.
Reduced levels are observed inhypothyroidism.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunoelectrophoresis and Double Radial Immunodiffusion.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C.
Stable for 12 months at -20°C.
Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Specificity：Recognizes human thyroxine binding globulin. In immunoelectrophoresis and radial immunodiffusion (Ouchterlony) against fresh normal human plasma a single precipitin line is obtained which shows a reaction of identity with the precipitin line obtained with purified thyroxine binding globulin. No reaction is obtained with any other plasma protein component or serum. Does not crossreact with any other component of human plasma.
