The MUP is a sex related complex with a pre-albumin mobility in gel electrophoresis.
Concentrations in male mice are between 50 to 150mg/ml, in female mice 10 to 20mg/ml.
The complex is also detectable in serum, however concentrations are about 200 to 400 times lower.
Variations in the composition of the complex are genetically determined.
Applications:Suitable for use in Immunoelectrophoresis and single or double radial immunodiffusion (Mancini, Ouchterlony).
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Immunoelectrophoresis: 120ul against 2ul urine, plasma or equivalent Double Radial Immunodiffusion (Ouchterlony): Use a rosette arrangement with 10ul in a 3mm diameter center well and 2ul serum samples (neat and diluted) in 2mm diameter peripheral wells
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Grade:Serum
Purity:Serum
Form:Supplied as a lyophilized powder. No preservatives added. Reconstitute in 1ml sterile ddH2O. Dilute further in PBS, pH 7.2.
Specificity:Recognizes mouse Major Urinary Protein. In immunoelectrophoresis and radial immunodiffusion against normal mouse plasma characteristic precipitin lines are obtained which show a reaction of identity with the precipitin lines obtained with purified immunogen. No reaction is obtained with any other plasma protein components or serum. Does not crossreact with any other component of mouse plasma.
