Alpha-lactalbumin is one of the major proteins in the alpha region after immunoelectrophoresis of bovine milk.
It has been implicated as a component of the enzyme lactose synthetase which catalyzes he formation of lactose from uridine diphosphate galactose and glucose.
Applications:Suitable for use in IEP, Immunoprecipitation and RID.
Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilutions: IEP: Use 2ul serum against 120ul antiserumDouble RID: Use a rosette arrangement with 10ul antiserum in 3mm diameter center well and 2ul serum samples (neat and serially diluted) in 2mm diameter peripheral wells.
Single RID: 0.5-1% antiserum in the agar gelOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C.
Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C.
Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
