Recommended Dilution:Double Radial Immunodiffusion (Ouchterlony): Use a rosette arrangement with 10ul in 3mm diameter center well and 2ul serum samples (neat and serially diluted in 2mm diameter peripheral wells)
Immunoelectrophoresis: 120ul against 2ul serum or equivalentOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Precipitin Titer: 1:32 when tested in agar block immunodiffuison titration against a 1% solution of purified J chain in PBS>
Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C.
Stable for 12 months at -20°C.
Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.

Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Form：Supplied as a powder obtained from lyophilization of delipidated, heat-inactivated antiserum. No preservative or other proteins added. Total protein and IgG concentratons are comparable to those of pooled normal rabbit serum. Reconstitute with 500ul sterile water.
Specificity：Recognizes human J Chain. The antiserum shows precipitation reaction with totally reduced and alkylated polyclonal and monoclonal polymeric IgA and IgM. No reaction is obtained with the intact polyclonal or monoclonal IgA, IgM and IgG. There is also no detectable reaction with normal human serum, normal human milk, purified Ig heavy and light chains and secretory component. However a single precipitin line can be obtained with human serum after two hours incubation with 9 M urea and 0.2 M mercaptoethanol at pH 8.6, and this shows a reaction of identity with the precipitin line obtained with the purified immunogen.
