Fibrinogen (clotting factor I) is a heat labile beta glycoprotein present in plasma.
It is the precursor of fibrin, which is the key protein constituting the network of the blood clot.
Thrombin converts fibrinogen to fibrin by limited proteolysis.
Fibrin monomers polymerize to fibrin which is stabilized by cross-linking.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Dot Blot, Western Blot Immunoelectrophoresis, Radial Immunodiffusion, Immunocytochemistry and Immunohistochemistry.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions:ELISA: 1:2000-1:10000Immunocytochemistry: 1:100-1:500Immunohistochemistry: 1:100-1:500Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Peroxidase/IgG protein molar ratio (E/P): ~1.7
Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder is stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C.
Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O prior to use.
To avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot reconstituted stock solution and store at -20°C.
Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Note: Sodium azide is a potent inhibitor of peroxidase and should not be added to HRP conjugates.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
