Ceruloplasmin (Cp) is a plasma metalloprotein synthesized and secreted by the liver.
Cp (also known as ferroxidase; iron (II):oxygen oxidoreductase, EC 1.16.3.1) is a blue alpha-2-glycoprotein that binds 90 to 95% of plasma copper and has 6 or 7 cupric ions per molecule.
It is involved in peroxidation of Fe(II) transferrin to form Fe(III) transferrin.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunoelectrophoresis and Single and Double Radial Immunodiffusion.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Immunoelectrophoresis: 2ml plasma or equivalent against 120ml antiserumDouble Radial Immunodiffusion: Use a rosette arrangement with 10ml antiserum in 3mmdiameter center well and 2ml plasma samples (neat and serially diluted) in 2mm diameterperipheral wells
Single Radial Immunodiffusion: 1% in the gel
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C.
Stable for 12 months at -20°C.
Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
