C1 esterase inhibitor is a single chain acid glycoprotein with a molecular weight of 110000.
Theprotein has a high carbohydrate content.
In immunoelectrophoresis it has an alpha mobility.
Theconcentration in normal serum ranges from 150 to 350mg/ml.
Reduced levels are observed inhereditary angioedema.
It regulates the activation of complement factor C1 as well as the activityof activated C1 by coupling with the active catalytic site at the light chains of C1r and C1s
Moreover it also inhibits, kallikrein, Factor XI and Factor XII.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunoelectrophoresis and Radial Immunodiffusion.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Immunoelectrophoresis: 120ul against 2ul or equivalent Double Radial Immunodiffusion (Ouchterlony): Use a rosette arrangement with 10ul in a 3mm diameter center well and 2ul serum samples (neat and serially diluted) in 2mm diameter peripheral wells

Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C.
Stable for 12 months at -20°C.
Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Specificity：Recognizes human C1 esterase inhibitor. In immunoelectrophoresis and radial immunodiffusion (Ouchterlony) against fresh normal human plasma a single precipitin line is obtained which shows a reaction of identity with the precipitin line obtained with purified C1 esterase inhibitor. No reaction is obtained with any other plasma protein component or serum. May also react with fibrin monomers, circulating fibrinopeptides and fibrin degradation products.
