Alpha-1 Orosomucoid is a glycoprotein with a molecular weight of 41000.
It is an acute phase protein with a carbohydrate content of 42%.
The mean concentration of this protein in serum is 900ug/ml.
Concentrations are elevated in cases of tissue damage, inflammation, oestrogen administration and the presence of myeloma.
Applications:Suitable for use in mmunoelectrophoresis and Single and Double Radial Immunodiffusion.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions:Immunoelectrophoresis: 2ul serum or equivalent against 120ul antiserumDouble Radial Immunodiffusion: Use a rosette arrangement with 10ul antiserum in 3mm diameter center well and 2ul amniotic fluid or hepatoma serum sample (neat and serially diluted) in 2mm diameter peripheral wells
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C.
Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C.
Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Species cross-reactivity of this antiserum has not been tested in detail.
