TLR13, also known as Toll like receptor 13, is a member of the Toll-like receptor (TLR) family of transmembrane proteins comprised of multiple copies of leucine rich repeats in the extracellular domain and a TIR domain.
The exact function of this 991aa containing protein is yet unknown, but reports suggest that it is closely related to TLR3 and participates in the innate immune response to microbial agents.
TLR13 binds to and acts via MYD88 and TRAF6, leading to NF-kappa-B activation, cytokine secretion and inflammatory response.
