Mip1 is a novel member of a group of highly conserved proteins.
Originally identified as a RAS suppressor protein, Mip1 is a human ortholog of S.
cerevisiae Sin1.
Studies reveal that Mip1 interacts with proteins involved in MAPK signaling including MEKK2 and participates in the regulation of MEKK2 activation and signaling.
It also has been found to bind to JNK and might act as a scaffold molecule in the regulation of JNK signaling.
